PUBLIC DISPLAY EXERCISE ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (EIA) OF THE PROPOSED 68KM EKITI TOLL ROAD PROJECT BY EKITI STATE GOVERNMENT, EKITI STATE
DEADLINE: 1ST DECEMBER, 2020

In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act CAP E12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major development activities to carry out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of their proposed project, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces twenty-one (21) working days Public display on the Draft Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) submitted by the Ekiti State Government. This display is to enable the public make input that shall facilitate informed decision taking by the Ministry on the project’s EIA

Brief Project Description:
The road design is a dual carriage way that will traverse five local government areas (LGAs), and ten communities, approximately 40 kilometres of natural forests, about 20 kilometres of modified forests, agricultural lands, and two shallow streams. The construction and operation of the toll road project is expected to cause potential and associated environmental and social impact on the recipient environment and communities along the defined 30m Right of Way (RoW)
