CHRISTIAN BLIND MISSION (CBM)
CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST WITH CBM INTERNATIONAL: SEEKING LOCAL PARTNERS ACROSS NIGERIA

Christian Blind Mission (CBM) International calls for Partnership with Local/National organizations, Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and CSOs to partner in achieving its strategic vision of ensuring an inclusive society, in which all persons with disabilities enjoy their human rights and achieve their full potential.

About CBM International
CBM is an international Christian development organization, committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world. Based on our Christian values and more than 100 years of professional expertise, we address poverty as a cause and a consequence of disability. We work in partnership with state and non-state actors to create an inclusive society for all. Our work is not just about numbers; it’s about making a real difference in the lives of those in need. Through our localization agenda, we place a strong emphasis on local capacity development in the regions where we work. This approach not only enhances service delivery in crucial areas such as healthcare, education, rehabilitation, and livelihood development but also fosters the organisational development of our partner organisations, ensuring a sustainable impact.

Background
The world is making progress in tackling poverty. However, persons with disabilities are left behind. One in seven of us has a disability. That is more than one billion people around the world! 80 percent of whom live in low middle income countries. People with disabilities commonly face profound stigma and discrimination and are routinely denied economic, social and leadership opportunities. Long before the Grand Bargain was adopted at the World Humanitarian Summit in 2016, CBM International had already championed local partnerships, ensuring that local and national responders lead humanitarian and development aid interventions in their respective countries. Through our partner-based approach, we empower organizations to develop appropriate, high-quality, and sustainable programs, engage in advocacy, and provide external advisory services. We embrace a diverse range of partners who not only complement each other’s expertise but also bring contextual understanding and open pathways to relevant local and international programmatic and advocacy networks. In partnership, we unite efforts, promote ownership, and share accountability. Together, we learn, build each other’s capacity, and achieve greater impact.

Why Partner with CBM International?

  • Shared Vision: Partner with us to reduce poverty and disability in Nigeria.
  • Capacity Strengthening: Gain access to expertise in disability-inclusive practices and institutional development.
  • Resource Mobilization: Together we can unlock and access potential funding, technical support, and other essential resources.
  • Global Networking: Join a network of like-minded organizations dedicated to inclusive development.
  • Respect: CBM is well experienced in partnership models that recognize complementarity, and all types of knowledge and experience organizations bring to the table.
