TERTIARY EDUCATION TRUST FUND (TETFUND)
REQUEST FOR SUBMISSION OF QUALITY ACADEMIC MANUSCRIPT FOR PUBLICATION AND APPLICATION FOR GRANTS BY PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION JOURNALS
The Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) is mandated, amongst other functions, to establish and nurture Higher Education Book Development Culture to address the paucity of reading and learning materials in Nigeria’s Higher Education Institutions. Additionally, the Board set up a Technical Advisory Group (TAG), comprising a committee of experts and stakeholders, to execute the mission.
1. REQUEST FOR QUALITY MANUSCRIPTS
Books scarcity has reached a crisis proportion as evident not only in the quantity of books available, but also in the quality of locally produced books available. This call for the submission of quality manuscripts, therefore, is to invite authors of quality academic manuscripts to submit their proposals which will be reviewed by the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for publication into academic textbooks to be used by higher educational institutions. In view of the above, TETfund is hereby inviting quality manuscripts for publication as books from authors within the Public and Private Tertiary Education Institutions in the following areas:
i. Science, Technology and Innovation
ii. Medicine and Health Sciences.
iii. Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
iv. Humanities, Arts and Social Science
Authors wishing to submit manuscripts should prepare their documents in accordance with the TETfund Style Manual available in hard copy at all tertiary institutions’ libraries/offices and at the TETfund website – www.tetfund.gov.ng. Soft copies are required to be submitted online to TAG Book Publication Section in the TETfund website and essdept@tetfund.gov.ng. Potential contributors must note that all their manuscripts should first target a tertiary education audience. The lead author must not be below the rank of a Senior Lecturer or equivalent. Every submitted manuscript will be subjected to peer review and those that do not comply strictly with instructions will be turned down. Only one (1) hard copy and soft copy of the manuscripts should be submitted within six months of this publication.
2. REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS TO ACCESS N5 MILLION GRANT TO SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION JOURNALS
TETfund’s support to Professional Association Journals is to improve their quality, impact, visibility, accessibility and contribution to global knowledge dissemination. A Professional Association wishing to apply for support for its journal in the form of a grant of up to N5 million should:
i. Submit a formal application, specifying the name of the journal, hosting website, location of the secretariat, the name and address of the Editor –in –Chief and the composition of the Editorial Board;
ii. Provide evidence of consistency of publication, online visibility, peer review mechanism, editorial policy, abstracting and indexing;
iii. Submit one copy each of the last five volumes of the journal and link to their online sources for inspection. This must be done within six months of this publication.
