The successful execution of PLCE/NB by the NBA in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger as beneficiaries, which was funded by the African Development Fund (ADF) from 2005 to 2011 and the multiple benefits gained by the beneficiary member countries, led the NBA to initiate the PIDACC/NB, which is being co-financed by African Development Bank (AfDB) as the lead donor, European Union (EU), Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and counterpart fund contribution by the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN).
