EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR EXTERNAL AUDIT SERVICES
The Federal College of Agriculture Ishiagu, Ivo L.G.A., Ebonyi State as an institution under Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria desires to appoint a new accounting firm as an External Auditor.
TENURE:
The tenure of the External Auditor shall be one (1) year in the first instance renewable annually subject to satisfactory performance in accordance with Guidelines on the appointment of Auditor for Federal Government Parastatals. The tenure of the external Auditor shall not exceed five (5) continuous years.
QUALIFICATION:
Expression of interest is therefore invited from reputable accounting firms that wish to be considered as External Auditor to the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu. Interested firms should submit applications with relevant documents about the organization, as specified below.
CRITERIA FOR APPOINTMENT AS EXTERNAL AUDITOR ARE:
1. Brief on the firm
2. Location of head office and branches in Nigeria
3. Name of partners
4. Evidence of License to Practice (LTP) and CAC registration.
5. Key clients and their areas of business, contact persons and their functional phone numbers/emails address.
6. Evidence of audit services in public sector organizations, especially tertiary institutions
7. Summary of strength, qualifications and experience of partners and staff
8. Evidence of litigations against the firm and or foreign affiliates if any, in the past three (3) years
9. Be registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants on Nigeria (ICAN)and / or the Association on National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)
10. Evidence of registration with office of the Auditor General of the Federation
11. Evidence of company current tax clearance certificates for the last 3 years.
12. License to practice as an Audit firm
13. Clearance certificate from Nigeria Social Insurance Trust fund
14. National Pension Commission clearance certificate
15. Certificate of compliance from industrial training fund
METHOD OF APPLICATION:
Interested External Audit firm should direct twelve (12) copies of a formal application sealed with the inscription “EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR EXTERNAL AUDIT SERVICES” at the top corner of the envelop together with copies of relevant documents to the Provost Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, Ivo L.G.A., Ebonyi State. Only shortlisted firms will be contacted.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The successful firm shall:
1. Audit the Agency’s annual financial statements
2. Review internal controls and recommend improvements.
3. Prepare a management letter highlighting audit findings and recommendations.
4. Perform other statutory audit responsibilities as may be required.
