Guinness Nigeria Plc reschedules dividend payment date and AGM

The Board of Directors of Guinness Nigeria Plc has rescheduled the timeline for the payment of its final dividend from an initial proposed date of 20th of October to 27th of October, 2021. The firm also rescheduled its Annual General Meeting by a week, from 19th of October to 26th of October, 2021.

This is according to a recent notice captioned: ‘’Update on Corporation Actions Announcement,’’ sent to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and seen by naijabusiness.

 According to the recent disclosure, the proposed dividend rate of 46 kobo per share was retained alongside the qualification date and the date for the closure of its register. Accordingly, the qualification date remains 28th of September, 2021, while the date for the closure of the company’s register of shareholders remains from 29th of September to 4th of October, 2021.

Recall that Guinness Nigeria Plc had earlier earmarked a total sum of N1.01 billion as final dividend to be paid to the shareholders of the company who currently hold the 2,190,382,819 fully paid ordinary shares of the company.

The largesse or dividend windfall is premised on the back of impressive FY 2020 results declared by the company, where most of its key financial metrics recorded a surge. For example, the company’s (Guinness Nigeria Plc) top line and bottom line for the financial year ended June 30, 2021 recorded a massive surge of 54% and 110% to close at N160.42 billion and N1.26 billion respectively. Its Earnings per share (EPS) for the period under review also grew by 110% YoY, printing 57 kobo. As at the period of writing this report, Guinness Nigeria is currently trading at N29.95 per share on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), up by 3.1%.
