BAYERO UNIVERSITY KANO (BUK)
INVITATION TO TENDER FOR PROJECTS IN THE UNIVERSITY
The Bayero University Kano intends to execute some projects under its 2019 TETFUND Entrepreneurship Intervention. The University, therefore, invites bids from qualified and eligible Contractors for the procurement of goods as detailed below;
2. SCOPE OF THE SERVICES

3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Interested Bidders are required to submit the following documents, duly signed, separated by dividers and arranged in the order outlined below; (a) Certificate of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) including forms CAC2 and CAC7.
(b) Current Tax Clearance for the last three (3) years (2016, 2017 & 2018) expiring 31 Dec. 2019.
(c) Evidence of registration on the Bureau of Public Procurements National Database of Contractors, Consultants and Service Providers by inclusion of Interim Registration Report issued by the BPP, expiring 31st January 2020.
(d) Certificate of Compliance with Pensions Reform Act, 2004 from the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) expiring 31 Dec. 2019
(e) Certificate of Compliance with the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Amendment Act, 2011, expiring 31 Dec 2019.
(f) Current Certificate of Compliance with the NSITF Employee Compensation Act, expiring 31 December 2019.
(g) Company profile and organization structure, including names and resumes of Key personnel with addresses and phone numbers.
(h) Certificate of registration of both the company and the key personnel with relevant professional bodies.
(i) Verifiable list of previous/similar major projects successfully executed in the past five (5) years with their location and clients. (Copies of at least three (3) completion Certificates/Final Payment Certificates should be attached).
Unabridged Audited Accounts of the Company for the last three years (2016, 2017 & 2018)
(j) For Joint Ventures, Memorandum of Understanding must be attached.
(l) Evidence of financial capability to execute the project by submission of reference letter from a reputable commercial bank indicating willingness to provide credit facility for the execution of the project when needed.
(m) Sworn Affidavit disclosing whether or not any officer of BUK or BPP is a former or present Director, shareholder, or has any pecuniary interest in the bidder and to affirm that all information presented in its bid are true and correct in all particulars.
(n) Letter of Consent to allow for verification of all the documents submitted including CAC, Inland Revenue, VAT remittance, Pension & Industrial Training Fund and the Company’s financial standing with the bankers.
(o) All documents for submission must be transmitted with covering/forwarding letter under the Company/Firm’s Letter Head bearing amongst others, the registration number (RC) as issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission, Contact Address, Telephone Number (preferably GSM) and email address. The Letter Head must bear the names and nationalities of the Directors of the Company at the bottom of the page duly signed by the Authorised officer of the firm
4. COLLECTION OF TENDER DOCUMENTS
Interested companies are to collect bidding documents from the Office of the Director Procurement, New Campus, Bayero University Kano on evidence of payment of a non-refundable fee of N10,000.00 per lot, paid into the Bayero University Kano’s Remita Account from any Commercial bank.
5. SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS
Bidders are to submit bid for each lot desired, two (2) hard copies each for the Technical and Financial bids with soft copy of the financial bid in MS Excel format. Technical and Financial bids are to be packaged separately in sealed envelopes clearly marked as “Technical Bid” or “Financial Bid”. Thereafter, enclose the two sealed envelopes in a larger sealed envelope with the lot number and title of the project clearly written at the top left corner of the covering envelope
The reverse side of the envelope must be clearly marked with the name and address of the bidder. The package should be dropped in the designated Tender Box at the Procurement Unit, Bayero University Kano.
6. CLOSING DATE & OPENING OF BIDS
Submission of bids closes on 21 October, 2019 at 12:00 noon. Any submission received after this deadline will not be considered. Submissions will be opened on the same day immediately after the closing time indicated above at the Conference Room of Procurement Unit Bayero University, Kano (New Site). The bidders or their representatives are required to be present.
7. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
(i) Bidders should not bid for more than two (2) lots.
(ii) Financial bids will be opened at the bid opening on the deadline scheduled in 6 above as prequalification is not required however; bidders not technically responsive shall be excluded from further consideration.
(iii) The University is not bound to shortlist any bidder and reserves the reject any bids in the interest of the public.
(iv) The University will only recognize and correspond with authorized officers of the tendering Companies and NOT through individuals or agents acting on their behalf.
