II.2.4) Description of services: This contract covers the provision of support services to the Nigerian Federal Solid Waste Policy (SUPPORT TO THE NIGERIAN FEDERAL MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORK ON SOLID WASTE).

The purpose of this service is to provide technical assistance to the Federal Ministry of the Environment of Niger (FMENV) to advise and assist in the implementation of solid waste management policies it intends to apply.
This technical assistance mission is divided into 3 phases described below.
– Phase 1: Diagnosis and comparative analysis of national and local waste management practices, focusing on certain identified States (3 months);
– Phase 2: Definition and promotion of technical, economic, financial, environmental and social standards, in accordance with the objectives of the national policy (13 months);
– Phase 3: Recommendations concerning the governance of the sector at the federal, national and local levels (2 months).
