SOLIDARIDAD LEATHER SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT, KANO STATE (NIGERIA)
CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: CONSULTANT ON LEATHER PRODUCTIVITY AND QUALITY ENHANCEMENT
Solidaridad West Africa (SWA) is a not-for-profit regional organization based in Accra, Ghana. Established in 2005, SWA is part of the Solidaridad Network, a Dutch-based development organization operating in five continents through eight Regional Expertise Centres. With its network secretariat in The Netherlands, Solidaridad has over 50 years of global experience working in the development of profitable supply chains, creating sustainable businesses and livelihoods.
SWA has proposed a 3-year Leather Productivity and Quality Enhancement Project (LPQP) in Kano State (Nigeria) with the following objectives:
(1) To build the capacity of smallholder sheep and goats farmer associations towards sustainable organizational and business management.
(2) To improve sheep and goats welfare, productivity and incomes through the development of viable semi commercial sheep and goat businesses towards improved leather quality.
(3) Facilitate market linkage for leather quality improvement and better pricing.
(4) Improve environmental management at 2 tanneries and to support them to achieve Leather Working Group certification.
A scoping mission is planned in the interim with the intent to gather baseline data in order to understand the context, dynamics, challenges, and opportunities across all levels of the value chain in this sector as a key activity prior to the full project implementation stage.
To meet the scoping objectives, SWA (Nigeria) invites Expression of Interests (EoI) from qualified candidates to serve in the interim as a consultant to the project. The EoI should request for the full ToR and proposal application process. Interested candidates can send in their application after they have received the full ToR.
Deadline for the submission of applications is 29 April, 2019.
Application and CV should be submitted to the Program Manager via firstname.lastname@example.org[block]0[/block]g
