SUSPENSION OF BID OPENING
The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), pursuant to the provisions of Sections 5(a) and (o) of the Public Procurement Act (PPA), 2007 in exercising its oversight responsibilities as the Regulator of Public Procurement in Nigeria has provided Guidelines for the conduct of public Procurement activities as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic/ Lockdown and directed that all procurement that are non-essential in nature which may not significantly affect Government activities at this time should be suspended. Therefore, Procuring entities that had embarked on such procurement proceedings before the COVID-19 lockdown should suspend evaluation of such tenders received until the presidential Task Force on COVID-19 gives clearance that non-essential activities can resume.
In view of the above, the Agency in line with the directives has suspended the opening of Bids scheduled for Thursday, 28th May, 2020 Lots 24 – 36 published in DAILY TRUST and THISDAY Friday 8th May, 2020 as well as Federal Tenders Journal of Monday 11th May – Sunday 24th May, 2020 till further notice.
