Green Concern for Development (GREENCODE) is a registered national NGO operating in both southern and northern region of Nigeria and implementing both development and humanitarian emergency projects.
Currently, GREENCODE is partnering with International Alert (IA) and implementing TSCTP Project in Borno state.
GREENCODE intend to procure the following under listing services.
A). Consultants to facilitate training on Civic Responsibilities and Peacebuilding (CRPB) for young persons in Jere, MMC and Bama LGAs of Borno State.
Description of Tasks:
The consultant will undertake training for 100 targeted (20 participants per community). The training will be conducted in 5 batches following the WHO/NCDC COVID-19 social/physical distancing protocol.
The overall objective of the civic responsibility and peacebuilding (CRPB) is to strengthen young people’s understanding of civic responsibilities, promoting peace and their capacities to implement initiatives to improve community life.
The consultant will adopt and utilized hand-on practical learning tools that will align with the literacy level of trainees.
In delivering this training, the consultant would deploy experiential and interactive/participatory learning techniques.
The training will be conducted in the two (2) popular local languages (Hausa and Kanuri) and will cover the following:
i. Concept of civic responsibilities and peacebuilding in the context of violence conflict.
ii. The importance of Civic responsibility, civil engagement and Peacebuilding.
iii. Civic engagement, gender, human rights.
iv. Strategy of engaging and improving peacebuilding in community.
v. Group work/tasks.
vi. Discussion on next step and action plan.
Expected Delivery from the Consultant:
i. Develop a simple-to-understand Training Manual/guide of CRPB with graphic/pictorial illustration of the concepts and topics including group tasks etc.
ii. Facilitate practical training session on CRPB for 100 youth in batches of 20 per community across the 5 project communities in MMC, Jere and Bama LGAs of Borno state.
iii. Produce a detailed report of all the training sessions, including analysis of pre/post-test analysis, direct quotes, pictures and attendance sheets.
Requirements
Applicants should have-
i. At least one-year experience on similar training of youth in northeast or Borno state.
ii. A holder of bachelor’s degree, or preferably a master’s degree, in a relevant field.
iii. Excellent facilitation skills in Hausa and Kanuri languages.
iv. Demonstrable knowledge of civic responsibilities and peacebuilding in violent
conflict context in Nigeria.
v. Strong written and oral communication skills.
B). Supply of Branded IEC materials. Visibility Jackets.
Description of Tasks:
The service provider will procure and brand with 2 to 3 logos visibility jackets in jean like materials
Expected Delivery from the Consultant:
i. Procure, sew and band the visibility jackets
ii. Design and print awareness banners, posters, bill boards and stickers.
iii. All IEC materials will be delivered within 3 weeks of contracting.
Requirements
Applicants should have-
i. At least 6 months of similar experience of branding visibility materials.
ii. Present not less than 2 samples of similar IEC materials supplied for other
actors/clients.
C). Consultants to facilitate Training of Radio Journalists on P/CVE, conflict sensitive reporting and gender sensitivity.
Description of Tasks:
The consultant will undertake training for 15 Radio Journalist in Maiduguri- Borno state. The training will be conducted for 3 days and will observe the WHO/NCDC COVID-19 prevention measures.
The overall objective of the training is to strengthen the capacity of media professionals to conflict sensitivity and gender responsive reporting in the northeast region of Nigeria, which will contribute to reducing the appeal of community members joining violent extremist groups through the promotion of peaceful methods for addressing grievances
The consultant will adopt and utilized hand-on practical learning tools that will align with radio journalism in the context of northeast.
In delivering this training, the consultant would deploy experiential and interactive/participatory learning techniques.
The training will be conducted in English Language and will last for 3 days and will cover essential topics and practical life experience and case studies, group work/tasks that will contribute in achieve the overall objective of the training.
Expected Delivery from the Consultant:
i. Develop a simple-to-understand manual/guide for the training with graphic/pictorial illustration of the concepts and topics including group tasks etc.
ii. Facilitate practical training session with the radio journalists.
iii. Produce a detailed report of all the training sessions, including analysis of pre/post-test analysis, direct quotes, pictures and attendance sheets.
Requirements
Applicants should have-
i. At least one-year experience on similar training on the subject matter with Radio Journalist in similar conflict zone.
ii. A holder of bachelor’s degree, or preferably a master’s degree, in a relevant field.
iii. Excellent facilitation skills in English languages.
iv. Strong written and oral communication skills.
D). Supply of COVID-19 personal protective/prevention kits.
Description of Tasks:
The service provider will procure and deliver the underlisted COVID-19 protective kits.
Expected Delivery from the vendor/service provider(s):
i. Reusable Face masks
ii. Hand-sanitizer of 500ML
iii. Hand-washing facilities with feature for leg operation.
All materials will be delivered within 2 weeks of contracting.
Requirements
Applicants should have-
i. At least 6 months of similar experience
ii Present not less than 3 samples of similar items as proofs.
E). Supply of Vocational Skill/Livelihood Start-up Kits.
Description of Tasks:
The service provider will procure and deliver the underlisted vocational skill/livelihood start-up kits to onward delivering to graduates of vocational skill training.
Expected Delivery from the vendor/service provider(s):
i. Tailoring and fashion kits
ii. Welding and metal works kits
iii. Carpentering and wood work kits
iv. Barbing and Hair dressing kits
v. Generator Repairs.
vi. Graining Machines
vii All materials will be delivered within 3 weeks of contracting.
Requirements
Applicants should have
i. At least 6 months of similar supplies.
ii Provide reference for similar supplies within Nigeria.
