DEADLINE: 20TH JUNE, 2022
NIGERIA LNG LIMITED (NLNG)
INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR THE REROUTING OF GTS-1 22KM X 36INCH PIPELINE CONTRACT

INTRODUCTION
Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) plant complex located on Bonny Island, Rivers State, Nigeria, consists of six natural gas liquefaction trains with a total capacity of 22 million tonnes of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and five (5) million tonnes of Natural Gas Liquids (‘NGL’) per annum. The 36″ GTS-1 (Rumuji-Bonny) pipeline was built in 1999 and is designed to transport -36mmscm/d of gas to the liquefication plant in Bonny. The last 8km of the pipeline Right of Way (‘RoW”) traverses what is now part of the larger Bonny Town and the growth in habitation within proximity of the pipeline has led to significant risks to the operation of the pipeline. NLNG accordingly intends to award an Engineering and Construction contract for Rerouting/Construction of an approximately 22km section of the 36″ GTS-1 pipeline across thick and light mangrove swamp, with shallow and deep creeks, major river and road crossings to its plant complex in Bonny Island (the Project).

The Project aims to execute the most optimal long-term mitigation measure to the T2 pipeline Bonny section encroachment (in terms of safety, regulatory compliance and social impact) in order to meet regulatory requirements for the current location classifications of the Bonny section of GTS-1 ROW due to population growth and encroachments into the RoW and enhance public safety. NLNG hereby invites reputable companies with relevant pipeline project/construction experience of gas transmission pipelines and plants involving swamps and major river crossings to submit an Expression Of Interest (‘EO’l) for the purpose of pre-qualification for the Project. The companies considered to meet the pre-qualification requirements will subsequently receive invitations to tender for the works.
