(1) This request for expression of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No. AfDB 75- 0/18 of January 26, 2018.
(2) The Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria/Plateau State Government has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Plateau State Potato Value Chain Support Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for this loan to payments under the contract for Training of Farmers/Producers on good Agricultural practices (GAP) in Plateau State
(3) The services under this assignment include conducting training for Farmers/ Producers in order to improve their capacity in potato production, storage and marketing geared towards better income and improved livelihood.
(4) The Plateau State Potato Value Chain Support Project now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services. The Consulting Firm shall have at least six (6) years’ experience in agricultural extension work, field demonstration establishments agricultural pest control and management, agricultural marketing and storage and farm management. It should have a record of minimum three (3) projects of comparable nature in the agricultural sector. The Consultant will also demonstrate the availability of the following key personnel with relevant experience as follows;
Team Member Minimum Requirements Team Leader Agronomist He/she shall have a minimum of MSc Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Extension or related field with at least 8 years’ experience as a Consultant in training Donor agency beneficiaries and or staff Agricultural Extension He/she shall have a Master of Science (Msc) Degree or Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Extension or related field with minimum of 4 years’ working experience. Entomologist He/she shall have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Entomology with at least years’ training experience. Marketing Specialist He/she shall have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Marketing or any related field with a minimum of three (3) years working experience.
(5) Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.
(6) The assignment will be undertaken in 7 non-consecutive working days over a period of 3 weeks and the estimated starting date is August 2022.
(7) Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be least Cost in accordance with the procurement Policy for Bank Group-Funded Operations (Policy), October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website
