Oxfam in its fight against poverty and suffering works with suppliers and service providers considering them as Oxfam partners given the interdependent relationship between Oxfam and its suppliers/service providers.

Suppliers and service providers are individuals (suppliers, consultants, freelancers, etc.), firms or companies that provide Oxfam with goods, services or works partnering with Oxfam to save lives, help overcome poverty and suffering, fight social injustice, and; to work towards having a just world without poverty. It is important for us that all people connected to our work is keeping with the organization’s beliefs, values, and aims.

Oxfam focuses its activities on providing a comprehensive humanitarian response to poverty, working cohesively in the four areas that constitute its identity: development cooperation, humanitarian action, fair trade, social mobilization, campaigns, and education for global citizenship.

Consultancy FACILITATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN INPUTS REVIEWS FOR FOCAL LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AREAS IN TARABA STATE(CDP PERFORMANCE/ BUDGET TRACKING)

The PROSELL project has adopted the Community Development Plan (CDP) across all its target Local Government Areas as a platform for enhancing civic engagement and promoting active citizenship across rural communities. Community groups, such as the Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs), are fast becoming center-points for civic engagements and a base for the setup of other civic engagement points such as the ward development associations, and other community-based monitoring groups all of which are aimed at fostering and promoting quality service delivery within their communities. There are over 1,665 Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) that have been created by the PROSELL Project. These VSLAs have been empowered to lead rural community engagements with government and community leaders in demanding service delivery through the CDP process. The quality of community needs identified through the CDPs and incorporated into governments’ spending plans for the current year will need to be assessed against implementation. The starting point, however, is to know how many of these community needs, championed by the communities’ VSLAs and other Community-Based Organisations (CBOs), have been recognized by, and selected for implementation by, Local and State Governments.
