EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR APPOINTMENT OF EXTERNAL AUDITOR

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified audit firms with proven track records of performance for pre-qualification and appointment as External Auditor to the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko.

REQUIREMENTS
Interested and qualified audit firms are required to submit the following pre-qualification documents for consideration:

  1. Evidence of registration or renewal with the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation and the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria for the year 2026.
  2. Evidence of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
  3. Evidence of a minimum of ten (10) years’ cognate experience with reputable organizations, especially institutions of higher learning.
  4. Evidence of registration with relevant professional bodies such as ICAN or ANAN, including a current practicing licence.
  5. Evidence of payment of Industrial Training Fund (ITF) contributions in compliance with the ITF (Amended) Act, 2011.
  6. Evidence of valid Tax Clearance Certificates for the past three (3) years (2023, 2024, and 2025) and a current Tax Clearance Certificate for 2026, along with other relevant tax documents.
  7. Evidence of VAT registration and previous VAT remittance.
  8. Evidence of Tax Identification Number (TIN).
  9. A list of similar audit works carried out in recent years, indicating dates and locations, supported by completion certificates.
  10. A comprehensive company profile including the organizational structure.
  11. Evidence of opening a Retirement Savings Account (RSA) for staff with a Pension Fund Administrator, supported by a Compliance Certificate issued by the National Pension Commission, in line with the Pension Act.
  12. Evidence of technical qualifications and experience of key personnel.
  13. A confirmation of compliance with the latest International Standards on Auditing (ISA), supported by a sworn affidavit stating that none of the firm’s partners has been convicted of or indicted for financial crimes.
